Parks, Beaches, and Restaurants See Increased Enforcement Amid Violations
Over the past weekend, 104 individuals were fined for breaching Covid-19 regulations in Singapore’s parks and beaches. At Changi Beach Park alone, 27 people were penalized for gathering in groups exceeding the eight-person limit and intermingling.
The Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) revealed that 12 F&B outlets were sanctioned for violating safe management measures during heightened inspections on January 22 and 23. Among these, two establishments, Mark Enterprise and Kim’s Place Seafood Restaurant, are set to face charges on February 2.
Mark Enterprise allegedly continued operations on July 18 despite being ordered to close for prior violations. Kim’s Place Seafood was found permitting large gatherings split across multiple tables and hosting karaoke activities in September 2020. As a result, the restaurant received two closure orders totaling 30 days, effective from January 6 to February 4.
These actions emphasize the government’s commitment to enforcing Covid-19 measures at F&B premises, malls, and public spaces to safeguard public health.
