3,577 New Covid-19 Cases in Singapore, 3 Additional Deaths Reported

The Total Number of Cases in the Country Reaches 113,381 with a Rise in Hospitalised Patients

Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 3,577 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Oct. 6), bringing the country’s total number of confirmed infections to 113,381. The new cases include 2,932 local transmissions and 630 infections in migrant worker dormitories.

Among the local cases, 664 were seniors aged 60 and above. In addition, 15 imported cases were detected, all of whom had been on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or under isolation upon arrival. Of these imported cases, five tested positive upon entry, and the remaining 10 developed symptoms while in quarantine.

Unfortunately, three more deaths were reported. These patients, all unvaccinated, were female Singaporeans aged between 68 and 102, and they had underlying medical conditions. The death toll from Covid-19 in the country has now reached 133.

The MOH continues to closely monitor the number of hospitalised cases, including those in intensive care, as the surge in infections persists.
