62 Individuals Investigated for Liquor Control and Gambling Offences During Chinese New Year Period

Joint Enforcement Operation Targets Public Entertainment Outlets

A total of 62 individuals, aged between 25 and 66, are under investigation for various alleged offences related to liquor control and gambling, following a police operation conducted between January 20 and 29. The operation, aimed at licensed and unlicensed public entertainment outlets, was led by the Tanglin Police Division and supported by officers from the Secret Societies Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department, as well as the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

Out of the 13 outlets that were inspected, seven were found to have violated several laws. One notable arrest involved a 28-year-old man, who was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in secret society activities.
