A WhatsApp conversation between a job seeker and a company staffer in Malaysia has gone viral, drawing criticism for the blunt and dismissive tone of the job candidate.

The incident was shared on Facebook by Yen Nee, an employee of a Malaysian real estate group, on January 21. The exchange began when Yen messaged the candidate to confirm a scheduled Zoom interview. The candidate responded rudely with, “Who you?” prompting Yen to reintroduce herself.

When the job seeker requested a rescheduling, Yen politely offered to “try [her] best” to accommodate the change. However, the candidate replied dismissively, “Try your best? K. I no need the job. Tq.”

The post quickly gained traction, with many commenters criticizing the candidate’s unprofessionalism and agreeing that the company was better off without hiring them. Yen sarcastically noted, “Youngsters nowadays are so full of personality.”

The viral exchange serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining professionalism, even in informal communication like messaging.
