Israel Plans Ground Offensive in Gaza as Internal Violence Escalates

Amid ongoing airstrikes and rocket fire, mob violence erupts across Israel, further fueling tensions

Israel’s military is preparing a plan for a potential ground operation in Gaza, intensifying its response as airstrikes continue on the enclave. The move comes as Hamas, the militant group governing Gaza, fires rockets deep into Israeli territory.

At the same time, mob violence has spread throughout Israel, marking the worst period of Arab-Jewish unrest in years. Far-right Jewish mobs targeted Arabs in several cities on Wednesday night, with reports of clashes and even attempted shootings. Palestinian citizens of Israel also clashed with police, further escalating the situation.

The unrest has prompted several international airlines, including British Airways and multiple U.S. carriers, to suspend flights to Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. Some flights have been diverted to Ramon Airport in the south of Israel, marking an unprecedented shift in Israel’s air travel operations due to the ongoing conflict.
