“Despite the postponement of the National Day Parade, August 21 remains a regular Saturday, and not a public holiday.”

With the National Day Parade in Singapore rescheduled to August 21 due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, many have speculated whether that Saturday would be declared a public holiday. However, the Ministry of Manpower has clarified that August 21 will not be a public holiday.

While the rescheduling of the parade has created some confusion, the government confirmed on its website that the day will remain just a regular Saturday. So, despite the festivities, it’s business as usual for most people in Singapore.

The next public holiday in Singapore will be on November 4, in celebration of Deepavali, a significant Hindu festival.
