Heartbreaking Last Texts of Russian Soldier Revealed Before His Death in Ukraine

Ukrainian Ambassador Shares Final Messages from Fallen Soldier During U.N. Address

In a deeply emotional moment during the U.N. General Assembly on February 28, Ukrainian Ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya shared the last text messages from a Russian soldier to his mother, moments before he was killed in Ukraine. The messages, reportedly retrieved from the soldier’s phone, showed the soldier expressing fear and distress as he faced the realities of war.

“I’m scared. They call us fascists. Mama, this is so hard,” the soldier wrote in the texts. The ambassador did not reveal the soldier’s identity or explain how he obtained the screenshots, but the personal nature of the exchange highlighted the human cost of the conflict.

Kyslytsya held up a printout of the soldier’s messages to the assembly, poignantly reading them aloud as a testament to the young soldier’s final moments. The soldier’s death came shortly after these messages, underscoring the brutal and tragic nature of the ongoing war.
