Husband Claims Wife Was Denied Treatment at Multiple Hospitals Before Slipping Into Coma
A tragic incident occurred when a Singapore woman, Ma Qingqing, 42, fell ill during a holiday in Europe and, after allegedly being denied medical treatment at several hospitals, slipped into a coma and later passed away. Ma, a financial advisor, had been traveling with her husband, Zhang, 44, for an 11-day European holiday in February 2022.
The couple, who spent over S$6,000 on the trip, visited the Netherlands, Germany, and France. Ma began feeling unwell shortly after arriving in Europe, and on the seventh day of their vacation, she fell into a coma while in Frankfurt, Germany. Despite her deteriorating condition, her husband claims they were unable to secure the necessary medical treatment at multiple hospitals. She passed away on February 19.
The tragic case has raised concerns about access to timely medical care while traveling abroad, especially for those in need of urgent treatment during international trips.
