Vickineswarie Jagadharan’s Journey of Grief and Advocacy for Mental Health
Vickineswarie Jagadharan, a school counsellor and mental health advocate from Singapore, has begun a YouTube channel to help others after tragically losing her only son, Emmanuel, to suicide in 2015. In a heartfelt interview, Vickineswarie shared her personal story of grief, remembering her son as a “very kind and loving” boy who cared deeply for her, always making tea and ensuring the household was in order.
Emmanuel’s death was a turning point for Vickineswarie, who now dedicates her life to raising awareness about mental health and erasing the stigma surrounding depression in Singapore. Her YouTube channel serves as a platform to support others struggling with mental health issues, aiming to offer guidance and empathy to those in need.
Vickineswarie’s emotional journey of loss and healing continues to fuel her advocacy work, as she hopes to make a positive impact and help others navigate the difficult terrain of mental health challenges.
