Singapore Reaffirms Commitment to Two-State Solution as It Strengthens Ties with Israel and Supports Palestine
On March 22, Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan announced that the country would establish an embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel. The decision marks a new phase in the diplomatic relationship between Singapore and Israel, with the potential for greater collaboration, especially in innovation and technology, according to Balakrishnan’s tweet following a meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.
In addition to this diplomatic development, Singapore will provide S$750,000 in healthcare aid to the Palestine Authority. This move aligns with Singapore’s continued support for a negotiated two-state solution, fostering peace and cooperation between Israel and Palestine.
Through these efforts, Singapore aims to enhance regional stability while maintaining its stance on facilitating dialogue and partnerships between Israel and Palestine, working towards a lasting resolution to the ongoing conflict.
