S’pore Man Claims His Motorcycle Brakes Were Cut While He Shopped in JB Mall

A visit to Johor Bahru turned sour when the man discovered his motorcycle had been tampered with during his shopping trip.

A Singaporean man shared a concerning incident on social media after visiting Johor Bahru, Malaysia, following the full reopening of the Singapore-Malaysia land border. The incident occurred on April 3, when the man rode his motorcycle to a shopping mall in Johor Bahru and parked it at around 11 AM.

When he returned at 7 PM, he was shocked to find that his motorcycle’s front brake cables had been cut, and the calipers had been removed. Frustrated and alarmed by the brazen nature of the crime, which took place in broad daylight, the man posted about the incident on Facebook. He expressed his concern that the reopening of the border had also led to an uptick in criminal activity.

The man urged fellow travelers and motorcyclists to be vigilant and take precautions to avoid falling victim to similar incidents.

A spokesperson from the South Johor Bahru District Police Headquarters confirmed that a report had been filed, and investigations are currently ongoing into the matter.
