Immigration Clearance Could Take Up to Three Hours
Travellers heading to Johor Bahru from Singapore this Good Friday long weekend (April 15-17) should prepare for significant delays at the Causeway. The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has warned that the wait for immigration clearance could be as long as three hours by car, mirroring the situation during the same period in 2019, before the pandemic.
During the peak of the Good Friday weekend in 2019, travellers departing Singapore by car faced waits of up to three hours, while those arriving had to wait for up to one hour. Motorcyclists had slightly shorter delays, with waits of about one-and-a-half hours.
Travellers are encouraged to plan accordingly to avoid frustration.
