The men were fined and detained after their passports lacked entry stamps despite crossing into Malaysia.
Three Singaporean men were reportedly detained for seven days in Johor, Malaysia, and fined RM3,000 (approximately S$942) each after their passports showed no record of their entry into the country. The incident occurred after the men had driven into Johor Bahru via the Woodlands Checkpoint on May 7.
According to reports, the group of five men, aged between 25 and 27, spent several days touring Johor and Kuala Lumpur before one of them flew back to Singapore from Kuala Lumpur International Airport without issue. However, when the remaining four men attempted to return to Singapore by car, they faced problems at the Johor checkpoint.
It was revealed that their passports were not stamped upon entry into Malaysia, leading to their detention and fines. The father of one of the men shared the details with Shin Min Daily News but chose to remain anonymous.
