The Cathay at Dhoby Ghaut to Open Its Doors Again After Two-Year Revamp

The iconic mall undergoes a significant transformation, introducing fresh brands and updated spaces

The Cathay at Dhoby Ghaut is set to make its long-awaited return, following nearly two years of renovations. The mall, which had been closed for extensive redevelopment since August 2023, is expected to reopen by April 2025, bringing a refreshed shopping experience to the heart of the city.

A teaser video shared by Cathay Malls on social media earlier this week hinted at the exciting comeback, with the caption, “The wait will be over soon. Are you ready?”

While the mall was still closed as of March 20, 2025, visitors will be greeted with brand-new storefronts upon its reopening. Among the notable new additions are the Chinese lifestyle brand Miniso, the Japanese barbecue chain Yakiniku Like, and the Indonesian coffee brand Fore Coffee.

The closure marked the first major renovation of the mall since its opening in 2003. Initially, the reopening was planned for Christmas 2024, but the works took slightly longer to complete. The renovation is part of a broader effort to enhance the Dhoby Ghaut area and its surroundings, which has long been a key retail hub in Singapore.
