The Hammers stun the Premier League leaders with a dramatic 3-2 comeback win.
West Ham United pulled off a stunning comeback on December 4, defeating Chelsea 3-2 at the London Stadium in a thrilling encounter. The match saw Arthur Masuaku score a sensational, yet freakish, winner in the 87th minute, giving the Hammers all three points.
The game began with Chelsea taking an early lead, as Thiago Silva’s header in the 28th minute put the visitors ahead. West Ham responded just before the break, with Manuel Lanzini converting a penalty in the 40th minute to level the score. However, Chelsea regained the advantage in the 44th minute thanks to a brilliant strike from Mason Mount, ending the first half 2-1 in their favor.
In the second half, West Ham fought back, and Jarrod Bowen’s goal in the 56th minute brought the score level once again. As the match seemed destined for a draw, Masuaku’s remarkable effort sealed the victory for the Hammers, much to the disbelief of Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.
