From Tech Consultant to Rising Star in Singapore’s Entertainment Industry
Ayden Sng made a bold career move, leaving behind a stable job as a $7,000-a-month product consultant in the tech industry to pursue acting. His journey began in 2019 when he landed a role in the Channel 8 drama Walk With Me, despite having no prior ambitions to become an actor.
Initially struggling with his performances, Ayden admitted to facing challenges on set. However, his perseverance paid off when he joined Mediacorp later that year. His breakthrough came with The Playbook, directed by veteran host-actor Bryan Wong, where he finally discovered the joy of acting.
Ayden’s career took another exciting turn in 2020 when he starred in Loving You alongside his longtime idol, Jesseca Liu. The opportunity was a dream come true, especially with a kissing scene that he described as surreal. Overwhelmed by the experience, he confessed that his on-screen nervousness was genuine, as he never imagined working so closely with his “childhood goddess.”
Despite initial doubts, Ayden now feels reassured that he made the right career choice, embracing acting as his true calling.
