Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed a significant increase in Covid-19 cases, with 120 new infections reported by 12pm on August 25, bringing the total number of cases to 66,812. In response to a growing Covid-19 cluster at Bugis Junction, MOH has extended the closure of the BHG store within the mall until August 30, 2021.

The cluster, initially reported on August 24, involves 61 confirmed cases, with 51 staff members from Bugis Junction, including 46 from BHG, and 10 visitors. To mitigate further spread and facilitate thorough cleaning of the premises, the store will remain closed to the public for five more days.

In an effort to control the outbreak, MOH is offering free Covid-19 testing for anyone who visited retail shops or used services at Bugis Junction between August 17 and 24. People who only passed through the mall to access neighboring buildings are not required to get tested.

Individuals who visited during this period are advised to monitor their health for 14 days and seek medical attention if they feel unwell. MOH is also testing staff who worked in affected shops and quarantining close contacts of confirmed cases.
