Four Dead After Fatal Single-Vehicle Collision in Bedfordshire

Police appeal for witnesses as investigation continues into tragic crash near Heath and Reach.

Four people tragically lost their lives in a single-vehicle collision in Bedfordshire early on Sunday morning. The crash occurred near the Flying Fox roundabout on the A5, close to the village of Heath and Reach, resulting in the car catching fire in a field.

Emergency services responded promptly, but despite their efforts, one man was pronounced dead at the scene. On Monday, Bedfordshire Police confirmed that three other individuals who were in the vehicle also died from their injuries.

The police investigation is ongoing, with authorities seeking any potential witnesses who may have dashcam footage or information about the crash. Officers have stated that no other vehicles are believed to have been involved, but they continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Acting Sergeant David Burstow emphasized the need for thorough investigation into this “tragic, awful incident” and requested the public refrain from speculation on social media. Specially trained officers are working to support the families of the deceased as forensic identification continues.
