Extended Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) Opens for Travelers, With Testing Requirements in Place
Singapore is expanding its Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) scheme to include fully vaccinated travelers from Australia and Switzerland, starting Nov. 8, 2021. This extension means that travelers from these countries can enter Singapore without the need for quarantine, provided they undergo a Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test.
The decision was made after considering that both Australia and Switzerland have similar or lower Covid-19 incidence rates than Singapore, along with other countries already under the VTL. Children aged 12 years and under who are unvaccinated can also travel with a VTL traveler if accompanied by a vaccinated adult.
The VTL program, initially launched on Sept. 8 with Brunei and Germany, has since been expanded to include additional countries. Singapore’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAAS) continues to assess the progress of the VTL scheme, prioritizing public health safeguards such as vaccination proof and testing requirements.
For entry to Australia and Switzerland, travelers are encouraged to check the specific entry requirements set by those countries.
