ICA Officers Turned Couple Discover They Were Neighbors Before Falling in Love

From Workplace Mentees to Soulmates: A Heartwarming Valentine’s Day Story

A unique love story has emerged between two officers from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) who, despite working together, were unaware that they lived in the same block and even on the same floor.

Nurril Shafirrin Binte Mohamed and Muhammad Ridzuan Bin Rosli’s love story began when Nurril was assigned Ridzuan as a mentee in 2015. However, their first interaction wasn’t exactly a smooth one. Nurril initially found Ridzuan “arrogant” after their first meeting at the Woodlands Checkpoint’s cargo clearance. She recalled, “He wasn’t even talking to me… So my first impression of him was that he was quite arrogant. I didn’t like him, actually.”

Fast forward to today, and the pair, now happily married, laugh about their initial awkwardness, as the saying goes, “You don’t find love, love finds you.” The couple’s story has become one of those sweet, serendipitous tales perfect for Valentine’s Day. The irony? They had no idea they were neighbors all along, sharing a floor in the same building, unaware of the bond that was about to bloom.
