The newly opened outlet attracts crowds of eager shoppers, with the queues stretching through the entire space.
On April 29, the opening day of IKEA Jem in Singapore witnessed snaking queues occupying two levels of the shopping mall. Shoppers, eager for the new store’s launch, started queuing as early as 9am, even though the store officially opened at 10am. The queues stretched across the entire area, with many patiently waiting despite only two levels of the three-storey outlet being accessible.
IKEA Jem, located in the heart of Singapore, is the first store in Southeast Asia to feature the Swedish retailer’s small-store concept, nestled within a mall. Singaporeans’ love for home decoration and new store launches was clearly on display, as the opening drew in a large crowd eager to explore the new outlet.
