The 38-year-old was apprehended for theft after taking alcohol and biscuits from a supermarket in Bedok North.
A 38-year-old man in Singapore has been arrested for theft after taking 20 cans of beer and some biscuits from a Bedok North supermarket. On November 8, the man tried to purchase alcohol past the permitted sale hours, around 2am. When the staff refused to sell the alcohol, the man allegedly became upset and threatened to report them to the police.
In retaliation, he reportedly stole the items and left the store. Later, he spent the night drinking at a nearby HDB void deck. As he attempted to head back home, he injured his palm, leaving bloodstains along the railings, walls, lifts, and floor of Blocks 111 and 112 Bedok North Road.
The man was arrested after the police followed the trail of blood. Later, he returned to the supermarket to pay for the stolen items. Authorities have charged him for theft in dwelling.
