Manchester City Triumphs 2-1 Over PSG with Sterling and Jesus Goals

Despite PSG taking the lead, City’s second-half comeback secured a deserved victory at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City came from behind to defeat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium, with Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus scoring to secure the win. PSG had taken the lead in the 50th minute through Kylian Mbappé, but City responded with goals from Sterling in the 63rd minute and Jesus in the 77th, to claim the three points.

PSG had dominated large portions of the first half but struggled to maintain control in the second. City’s performance was a testament to their resilience, as they capitalized on PSG’s mistakes to earn a well-deserved victory. The result ensured City’s progression to the knockout stages of the Champions League as group winners.

Pep Guardiola, speaking after the match, praised his team’s efforts and stressed that the victory was significant, especially given the quality of PSG’s squad. He also emphasized the importance of finishing top of the group ahead of the knockout rounds.
