Fast-Food Chain to Close Doors on April 14 as Part of Retail Space Changes
McDonald’s has announced the closure of its Hougang Mall outlet, with its final day of operation set for April 14, 2025. Customers hoping to enjoy a last meal at the branch must place their orders by 10pm on April 13.
A notice informing diners of the impending closure has already been displayed on the restaurant’s glass panels. The message expressed gratitude to loyal customers for their support over the years and apologised for any inconvenience caused. Patrons were also encouraged to visit other nearby McDonald’s branches, including those at Block 684 Hougang Avenue 8, Block 208 Hougang Street 21, and Hougang 1 mall.
More Eateries Closing in Hougang Mall
McDonald’s is the latest in a series of restaurant closures at Hougang Mall. KFC shut its outlet on March 10, and local food chain Qiji is set to follow suit, with its last day of operations scheduled for March 22.
The wave of closures coincides with an Asset Enhancement Initiative being implemented by Fraser’s Centrepoint Trust, the mall’s owner. The planned upgrades aim to enhance the shopping experience for visitors.
Additionally, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has allocated nearby land parcels for a new mixed-use development, which will include commercial spaces, residential units, and a bus interchange connected to Hougang MRT station.
