Pet Dog Tragically Killed by Python Outside Singapore Condo

Australian family in shock after a 3m-long python attacks their Pomeranian at Holland Link residence.

A 39-year-old Australian woman living in Singapore was devastated when her pet Pomeranian, Mia, was killed by a three-meter-long python outside their condo at Eleven@Holland. On the morning of January 18, after calling for Mia and not receiving a response, the woman discovered the horrifying scene of the snake wrapped around her dog, swallowing its head.

Paralyzed with shock, she froze for five minutes before seeking help from the estate’s security guards and friends. The Animals Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres) was called in to rescue the python, which had lodged itself in a hole. The rescue operation took three rescuers over two and a half hours.

Mia, a beloved family member for seven years, had joined the couple’s family in Australia before their recent move to Singapore two months ago. The tragic incident has left the family heartbroken. They have shielded their two-year-old daughter from the loss, telling her that Mia has gone back to their old home for a “holiday.”

The woman also recalled that Mia had been barking persistently from their balcony in the direction of the condo’s swimming pool prior to the attack, possibly warning them of the snake’s presence.
