Referee Criticized for Controversial Decisions in Singapore vs. Indonesia AFF Suzuki Cup Match

Omani Official Faces Backlash Over Poor Judgement During Semi-final Encounter

The referee for the second leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup semi-final match between Singapore and Indonesia has come under fire for several controversial decisions. Qasim Matar Ali Al-Hatmi, an Omani official, was heavily criticized by spectators for his handling of key moments in the match.

One of the most debated decisions was a red card issued to Singapore’s defender, Safuwan Baharudin. In the 36th minute, Baharudin was shown a yellow card after what appeared to be a clean tackle on Indonesia’s Witan Sulaeman. Many felt the referee’s decision was harsh and not in line with the actual events on the pitch. This marked just one of several controversial calls that left both players and fans expressing their frustration.

As the match progressed, Al-Hatmi’s decisions continued to draw attention, leaving many questioning the fairness and consistency of his officiating during this crucial semi-final.
