Singapore’s Ministry of Health to reward healthcare staff with monetary recognition for their dedication during the pandemic.
The Ministry of Health in Singapore has announced that 100,000 healthcare workers will receive a cash reward of S$4,000 for their contributions to the Covid-19 response. This award aims to honor the dedication of healthcare staff, including those working in public healthcare clusters, such as acute hospitals, polyclinics, and community care organizations like nursing homes.
While Health Minister Ong Ye Kung stated that the award may not entirely reflect the immense efforts made by these workers, he considered it a fitting gesture of appreciation. In addition to this, Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPCs), which played a crucial role in serving as the initial point of contact for patients, will be granted a S$10,000 award. This sum will be shared among the clinics’ staff members, further acknowledging their critical role in the fight against the pandemic.
