Singapore Police Investigating Prank Orders in Joo Seng, Affecting At Least 12 Delivery Riders

The Harassment Incident Involved Fake Orders Sent to Food Delivery Riders

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) is investigating a case of intentional harassment after multiple food delivery riders were allegedly sent on prank orders to a unit in Block 7 Upper Aljunied Lane on the evening of February 19, 2021.

At least 12 riders were involved, with more possibly on the way when the incident occurred. The prank orders were sent under the guise of legitimate delivery requests, causing confusion and frustration for the riders. Images shared by a resident on Facebook showed Foodpanda riders in their uniforms gathered at the scene. One of the riders reportedly confirmed that they were part of prank orders.

A resident, Nur’aqilah AZ, expressed sympathy for the riders, commenting on the unfairness of the situation, especially noting that one of the riders was an elderly man. Foodpanda has confirmed they are aware of the incident and are assisting authorities.

This prank follows a pattern previously seen with loan sharks using similar tactics to harass individuals. The SPF is continuing their investigation to identify those responsible for the harassment.
