Preliminary Investigations Indicate No Foul Play
A 15-year-old student passed away on February 4 after an incident during a high-element activity at a school camp. According to preliminary police investigations, the student lost his footing while participating in the course but remained suspended by his safety harness.
Despite being safely lowered to the ground, the student lost consciousness. When emergency responders arrived, paramedics from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) performed Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR before transporting him to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he later passed away.
The activity was conducted by Camelot Pte Ltd, an accredited vendor operating the SAFRA Adventure Sports Centre in Yishun. The program was organized for students from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent). In response to the incident, all high-element activities at the centre, including sport climbing, canopy challenge walks, and abseiling, have been temporarily suspended while investigations continue.
Authorities have stated that initial findings suggest no foul play, but further investigations are ongoing.
