All new Covid-19 cases in Singapore on March 13 were asymptomatic and imported
On March 13, 2021, the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported the death of a 61-year-old Singaporean man who had a history of hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, and gout. The cause of death was complications from Covid-19. This tragic case adds to the rising number of Covid-related fatalities, bringing the total number of deaths to 29 in Singapore.
The MOH also confirmed eight new cases of Covid-19, all of which were imported and asymptomatic. These cases were detected during the Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or during isolation. Among them, one is a Singaporean, another is a Singapore Permanent Resident, and the others are foreign workers or short-term visitors arriving from various countries, including India, Bangladesh, the U.S., and Indonesia.
Singapore has been vigilant in containing the spread of Covid-19 by enforcing strict isolation protocols for incoming travelers. As of the latest report, no new community or dormitory cases have been recorded, with authorities continuing their efforts to keep the virus under control.
