SK Jewellery traces its origins to Lim Poon Soo, a sundry goods shop owner from Joo Chiat, who dreamed of transitioning into the goldsmith industry. Despite the hard reality of running a sundry shop, which involved long hours and thin profit margins, Lim recognized the value of gold and believed it would stand the test of time. He hoped his family could one day lead a more comfortable life through a goldsmith business.
While Lim didn’t see his dream come to fruition during his lifetime, his three children—Mary, Peter, and Daniel—carried the torch forward, turning that dream into a reality. In 1991, they founded Soo Kee Jewellery (later renamed SK Jewellery), continuing their father’s legacy and building the brand into the iconic name it is today.
