Elias Lee’s Remarkable Learning Journey Starts at Kindergarten
At just nine years old, Elias Lee from Singapore has achieved a remarkable academic feat—scoring an A* in IGCSE O-Level mathematics, which typically is taken by students several years older. What makes this achievement even more extraordinary is that Elias taught himself advanced topics like trigonometry by the age of eight.
His academic journey began in kindergarten when Elias showed an early interest in math and science, encouraged by the educational environment at home. Both his parents are educators—his father, Clarence Lee, teaches physics and math at Graviton eCademy, while his mother, Cheryl Lin, is a college science instructor. The presence of numerous textbooks in math and science at home played a key role in sparking Elias’ curiosity and self-learning.
Elias’ astonishing learning speed has left his parents in awe, prompting them to carefully consider how to nurture his potential without overwhelming him. While the couple is proud of Elias’ achievements, they have also grappled with the balance between encouraging his academic growth and preventing unnecessary stress.
