Closure Linked to KTV Lounge Visit, All Staff to Undergo Testing and Isolation
A satay stall assistant at the Block 75 Lorong 5 Toa Payoh Hawker Centre has tested positive for Covid-19 after visiting a KTV lounge on Sunday, July 11. The hawker centre, which houses 36 stalls, was ordered to shut immediately to contain the spread.
The assistant’s case appears to be connected to the ongoing KTV cluster, with all hawkers and staff now required to undergo testing and isolation.
Hawkers at the centre were caught off-guard when they received the closure notice at around 3pm on July 14. Chen Wen Quan, who manages a dessert stall with his wife, confirmed the closure and shared that they immediately packed up and discarded all ingredients. They are now awaiting further instructions, including information on testing and a potential two-week quarantine period.
