Fortuna and Anto shine as they claim spots on the prestigious list of the region’s top pizzerias.
While Singapore may not immediately spring to mind when it comes to exceptional pizza, two local pizzerias have firmly placed the city on the map by earning spots on the highly regarded 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific 2025 list.
This independent Italian guide, known for its anonymous inspections, ranks the top pizzerias globally based on a range of factors including food quality, service, wine selection, decor, overall atmosphere, and even wait times.
Fortuna, a Southern Italian eatery that opened in Tanjong Pagar last June, debuted impressively at 28th place. The pizzeria, founded by three Italian friends including master pizzaiolo Giorgio Sorce—ranked among the top 100 pizza chefs worldwide—offers a distinct dough that undergoes a 50-hour fermentation process, creating its signature light and airy texture. Customers can enjoy pizzas in two sizes, piccola (22cm) and grande (30cm), with options ranging from the traditional Margherita to the more elaborate Sitari, which features wagyu tartare and cured egg yolk.
Meanwhile, Anto, a newcomer in Chinatown, earned an outstanding 13th place on the list. Opened late last year, Anto offers a compact yet innovative pizza menu, including in teglia-style pizzas baked in trays, yielding a soft, puffed crust. Signature dishes like Le Antonio showcase the chef’s unique twists, while classics like 4 Formaggi and Parma offer familiar comforts.
While Fortuna and Anto have earned their well-deserved recognition, La Bottega Enoteca—once a fixture on the list—failed to make the cut this year. This marks the first time in several years that the popular Joo Chiat pizzeria has not featured on the list, despite previously ranking as high as 15th place.
The 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific list continues to highlight the evolving pizza scene in the region, with Singapore’s pizzerias making a notable impact.
