Singaporean cabby offers his taxi to his niece for her wedding, helping the couple save hundreds on transport expenses.
In a heartwarming gesture of generosity, an uncle in Singapore helped his niece save between S$400 to S$500 by lending his ComfortDelGro taxi as her wedding car instead of renting a traditional one. The thoughtful act, which took place in March 2021, was shared by the taxi operator on Facebook, highlighting the unusual but practical solution for the wedding transport.
Syarinah Sani, the bride, was preparing for her special day when her uncle, Abdul Aziz Bin Talibak, offered his Comfort Ioniq taxi for the occasion. Despite not being a luxury vehicle, Aziz felt the slightly over-a-year-old car was still new and well-suited for the wedding, making it a cost-effective choice. He explained, “I decided to offer my taxi as my niece’s wedding car as I thought it would help them save on expenses.”
The taxi was approved for this special arrangement after ComfortDelGro and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) granted their permission. The initiative showed how a simple gesture could make a significant impact on the couple’s wedding budget.
