Delivery Rider’s Body Cam Captures Tense Moment Amid Covid-19 Concerns
A food delivery rider in Hougang was caught on video by his body camera, after a woman refused to share an HDB lift with him due to fears about the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The incident took place at a residential block on Hougang Avenue 8. In the footage, the rider attempts to enter the lift after holding the door open for other passengers. However, the woman, who was already waiting, steps in front of him, stating that she would not share the lift.
She insists that he “wait for the next one” and directs him to take another lift at the void deck lobby. The rider questions her reasoning, but she reiterates her stance, adding, “It’s pandemic.” As the lift door closes, she comments on his camera, and he mutters that her actions were “horrible.”
