The passer-by, who identified himself only as Wei, shared that he saw a wheelchair abandoned on a grassy slope near the water, while a staff member in a life jacket was attempting to manage the situation, preventing onlookers from approaching. Wei later learned that a woman had fallen into the reservoir, prompting the emergency response.
According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), they received a distress call around midday on March 22 for a water rescue at Lower Seletar Reservoir Park. Upon their arrival, the woman was found unconscious in the water and was immediately rescued by SCDF personnel.
She was quickly transported to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Preliminary investigations by the police have indicated no signs of foul play, and the cause of the fall remains under investigation.
