Actress and avid cyclist Zoe Tay reflects on Covid-19 as she completes a creative 42km journey through Bishan, Hougang, and Kallang.
In an exciting blend of fitness and creativity, Singaporean actress Zoe Tay took on a unique cycling challenge, tracing a Merlion-head design on a nearly 42km route across the island. The journey, which spanned through Bishan, Hougang, Kallang, and other areas, took Tay nearly six hours to complete, as she reflected on the ongoing impact of Covid-19 along the way.
Tay, known for her love of cycling, was inspired to attempt this artistic route and share her experience with her followers on Instagram. Despite the challenging nature of the ride, which started around 4pm and ended at 9:30pm, she was so engrossed in the task that she and her friend skipped dinner. Along the way, they cycled through popular locales such as Hougang, Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio, and Novena.
Tay’s Merlion design, featuring a somewhat sorrowful expression, stands out as a creative tribute to Singapore’s national symbol. This endeavor is part of a growing trend where cyclists around Singapore are turning their routes into intricate designs, such as pigs, dinosaurs, and more. For Tay, this ride was a chance to combine her love of cycling with a meaningful reflection on the challenges of the pandemic.
